With doors closed and life paused, I found solace and inspiration in the most unexpected place - my cellar. This subterranean sanctuary became my art haven, having used various studio spaces before, none have felt quite right. Yet this confined space is not merely a space of creation; it is a testament to the profound and complex beauty that arises when we confront the passing of time.

“IN” was created as a reaction to the crumbling textures and weathered hues around me. I incorporated many different layers into the painting then peeled them back in repetition, creating an abstract landscape, or the jagged intricacies of aged wood. The hidden potential of an old Etch-A-Sketch.

With each artwork, I seek to evoke a sense of nostalgia, inviting the viewer to ponder the passage of time and reflect upon the transient nature of all things. Through the juxtaposition of vibrant colours and weathered textures, I celebrate the harmonious coexistence of growth and decay, finding beauty in the most unexpected places.
